Dear friends,
As you may know, I was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in January 2018. Thankfully, the rapid advances in medicine saved my life three times. But throughout this nightmarish period, I kept wondering, "Why do I feel so alone?"
Kits to Heart was born out of having received a thoughtful care package from a stranger when I was in the hospital and felt like I had lost all hope. This one gift inspired me to pay the kindness forward, and since starting our nonprofit last May, I am so proud to have given more than 2,350 cancer care kits and hundreds of comfy blankets to patients nationwide.
We recently learned that Kits to Heart is a finalist in three Maryland counties for a virtual pitch competition (think "Shark Tank" for social change!). Among other awards, there is an audience choice award of $10,000 for each event. I am humbly asking for you to find time in your calendar, tune in, and vote for KTH. The money we win will be used for a new art therapy program and will make a huge difference for this small nonprofit.
